Feedback from seminars on Fathering/Parenting

“His delivery is humorous, relaxed, engaging, easy to listen to and focussed.“
NG. Mens Counsellor. Perth

“My husband took some of his friends from work to a Mens’ Breakfast at our church a few months ago at which Bruce spoke on fathering. He said it was a fantastic talk. Often the speakers at those events are bit dry, but what Bruce had to say obviously really touched their hearts.  He has been reading the book ever since and meeting with his friends to discuss it over breakfast. He has been transformed as a father - and it is the same for the three friends that he took along from his work”.
DM,  wife and mother. Perth

“This was a good evening, with out 30 men, all fathers and 2 soon-to-be fathers.  Very relaxed style and presentation, in digestible chunks.  Enough information to get the group thinking without being over loaded.  Bruce did what he said he was going to do; provide a thought provoking, encouraging and enjoyable session exploring practical advice for busy fathers.  He is easy to listen to, not patronising or intimidatory.  A well judged evening”.
Peter Mumford. Health Management Consultant, London.

“That was an incredible talk. The best talk of the whole conference.”
“That talk was so moving, so inspiring - and so funny”.
“That talk was so good. It was wonderful”
Comments from the Society of Hospital Pharmacists Annual Scientific Conference, Canberra, Nov 2003.

“That talk was brilliant. Lots of information and discussion about things that fathers really need to hear today.”
Judy P.  Parenthood Counsellor and Lecturer. Augusta.

“I can see why he has won three Teacher-of-the-Year awards in the Medical School.

 Hi Bruce,
Just thought I would say thank you again for speaking to the guys the other evening. The feed back from them was great. They all went away with something and were all encouraged, not beaten up. Great stuff thanks again.
Ray Orr. Shoreham, England. July 2003.

“On behalf of all who attended the breakfast last Saturday at the Warehouse Café, a monumental ‘thank you!’ It was a first class talk, helpful, insightful, practical and pastoral. And the book is great too! We do appreciate you taking time out for us.”
SF. Pastor.

“The men who attended the Fathering Seminar all felt that the session went very well, was very interesting and well researched and presented it in a very "inclusive" way” and several women have independently commented to me that their husbands found the talk very informative and worthwhile.
A number of women who had come along without their partners said that they thought the seminar was so brilliant they wanted to know when he was speaking next, as they felt they absolutely had to get their husbands along to hear it”.
TN.  Engineer, P & F Chairman and Seminar organiser, Private Girls School. Perth

“The feedback from the talk has been quite terrific”.
MT. Co-ordinator, Annual Father-Son Breakfast, Boys Grammar School. Perth

“After reading Bruce's book while on holidays I felt by his tone that he would be a man who could communicate easily and freely. We invited Bruce here to conduct a seminar based on the book. We appreciated Bruce's earthy, conversational approach and his ability to relate with genuineness.
The content was excellent as Bruce focused primarily on several practical ideas for helping busy fathers feel that they could actually make a difference. The presentation was simple, clear and engaging. From the comments I received those present went home feeling affirmed, encouraged, inspired and with a better handle on some simple things they could do to make a difference.
I could certainly recommend Bruce to anyone wanting someone to talk to men in ways that will have them listening rather than switching off.”
AH. Baptist pastor. Lesmurdie.

“That was the best talk I have ever been to. And I don’t mean the best talk on parenting. I mean the best talk of any sort. And I have been to dozens and dozens of conferences. His ability to engage with that audience of business people was remarkable“.
Doctor. Melbourne.

“It was a first class talk, helpful, insightful, practical and pastoral. The book is great too”.
SF. Church pastor. Perth

“This is the best talk of its kind I have ever heard”.
GW. Principal, Private Boys Secondary School. Perth

The talk was informative, entertaining and inspirational. As a working mother I found all of the ideas to be applicable to me as well to the men who attended.
Ms JA. City Council Community Development Officer. Sept 2003.

Your session on Parenting at the John Tonkin Centre for the Water Corp was a resounding success.

Bruce Robinson's talk on "fathering from the fast lane" is a treasure trove of parenting wisdom. He uses a highly intelligent but simple psychological appraisal of children to identify that the key to family happiness is unconditional parental love directed to the needs of the child. Using a series of everyday examples, many gleaned from hundreds of interviews with parents, he highlights the pathway for forming loving and respectful relationships with children and teenagers. The talk is delivered with the panache of a professor and the wit of a gifted observer of the human condition. This is a talk not to be missed.
Dr Lou Irving, Melbourne

That was the best talk I have ever heard on any subject. Thank you. My wife enjoyed it too and said she was glad I was there to listen to it.
JA. Surgeon. Perth.

“Bruce. I want to thank you for your sincere and passionate ‘bunch of ideas’ presented last night.  It may be reassuring for you to know that it has already made a difference to my family – my husband was home for breakfast (that he helped the kids to prepare) and spent time playing cricket with our 6 yr old before school.   A small step in a very positive direction.
Almost coincidentally my 8yr old asked this morning if she could come with me on my next business trip to Sydney.  Instead of dismissing it as impossible, I am now working out how we could do this together.  I’m looking forward to reading your book for a few logistical tips on this one!
So THANK YOU for the time you are spending away from your own family to make a difference to others.” NS.
