Objectives

system responds to Tuberculosis and why it fails to eradicate
it.

the disease, particularly those present in the lung.

To discuss strategies for screening
and diagnosis.

To review the epidemiology of TB,
in particular the following issues:

how and why the incidence has
changed over the past century, particularly from the points of
view of nutrition and therapy.

To discuss the re-emergence of TB,
particularly in HIV- affected countries.
5.
To discuss health budgeting in an
HIV-affected region in Africa from the perspective of TB
screening & therapy using case examples.
