In February/March 2005 then on other occasions in 2005 and 2006 I worked with an Obor Berkat Indonesia (OBI) tsunami medical relief team in Aceh. OBI is an Indonesian NGO. They have been providing aid in Indonesia for some years and have been helping in Aceh since the first few days after the tsunami. I worked in the town of Meulaboh, up the coast in several locations, particularly Lhokruet, and in Banda Aceh. I did some general medical work, some specialist lung practice and training (eg. bronchoscopy skills) and have returned to Aceh and Indonesia to develop links with  the Medical School and hospital in Banda Aceh, in partnership with my own University and other WA and Indonesian organisations, to help establish/reestablish medical training at postgraduate and undergraduate levels [see ISTIH]

In response to a number of requests and basically in the hope that you might consider either donating to Obor Berkat (via http://oborberkatindonesia.com/blessing.html) or volunteering to help in similar situations, I include relevant photos and some notes.
